“Samastah”, the latest album by Janin Devi & André Maris, was released on June 1, 2020: Six warm, connecting, calmly flowing mantras, carefully arranged by David Ma and Christian Einsiedel on the piano, tonally refined by mountain producer Rocco Horn and how always beautifully sung by Janin and André!
The Sanskrit word “Samastah” means “everything”, “connected”, “united”, “composed”, “harmonious”. And maybe it has never been more important than these days to settle for such qualities – to overcome the divisive and frightening and to feel what unites us:
A commonality of being here in this special time. An inner organization of things that subjectively seem so contradictory. A cosmic harmony of soft tones behind the noise of the world.
This beautiful album is reminiscent of all this – visually enhanced by the natural geometry in the video for the title song Mahadeva.
