Description

“Heimwärts” – which sounds like the end of a journey, was only the prelude for Bad Meinberger Spirit pop duo Janin Devi & André Maris. Now her second album “Heldenreise” is available:

Twelve new German-language songs invite you to travel, sing along and empathize. Playful and deeply animated, Janin and André celebrate their love for each other, for nature and for the peaceful perfection of being.

In doing so, they do justice to their self-image as “transforming artists” twice:
On the one hand, they cheerfully quote and re-formulate. From the middle of the song “Kostbare Liebe” suddenly arises the Christian “Danke für diesen guten Morgen” in a completely new sound garb. And the Sanskrit lullaby “Suddhosi Buddhosi” is enriched by a relaxed rap section.

At the same time, the pure poetry of both invites to inner change: “Come on, take off your shoes and go to the cliff of your fear” (“Komm, zieh‘ die Schuhe aus und geh‘ bis an die Klippe deiner Angst”) – when Janin and André sing about it, the whole experience of their own heroic journey becomes palpable. “Every step of the way heals the big heart silently until we see peace everywhere” (“heilt still das weite Herz, bis wir überall Frieden sehen”). “Until we know that we are much deeper than we ever thought” (“viel tiefer sind, als es uns bisher erschien”).

Singing and music cling to each other in a pleasant 432 Hz mood: Janin and André present themselves and their messages even more clearly, even more openly than on the previous album. Often they sing in sync, sometimes deliberately alone, then alternately or in soulful polyphony. Musically, from powerfully widened pop songs to reggae and hip-hop sounds to piano ballads and an acapella song, it’s all there with you, without ever losing the line. Tribe producer Rocco Horn from the band “berge” did a great job again

Thus, the “hero’s journey” in its entirety has become a moving as well as moving, fundamentally positive and beautifully sung meditation. How much transformation, how much deeper peace is possible, as more and more people embark on this journey – “deeply moved, in silence guided by love in the form of sound” (“zutiefst berührt, in Stille geführt durch Liebe in Form von Klang”)?
